Is your product impacted by the cyclospora outbreak?

cyclospora outbreak 2026

We are closely monitoring the 2026 cyclospora outbreak and partnering with all of our produce vendors, who are also able to monitor on a wider scale. We source our greens primarily from Charlie's Produce, a local vendor who source mainly from the West Coast and have direct partnerships with farms. All of our greens arrive pre-washed, and we have added an additional step of thoroughly scrubbing and/or peeling produce as an added precaution. We are also being hyper-vigilant about our standard food safety procedures. Some of the best preventative measures include thorough hand washing during food preparation, strict cross-contamination controls, thorough washing of kitchen surfaces before and after produce preparation, and proper temperature management. We have an "Excellent" rating from the King County Health Department and take each of these measures seriously. During times like this they become extra important!

Current evidence points towards certain lines of Taylor Farms iceburg lettuce being the culprit for the midwest outbreaks. Westerly does not source from Taylor Farms and does not use any iceberg lettuce in our menus. As the FDA narrows down information on potential west coast outbreaks, we'll be staying up to date so we can make purchasing and menu adjustments swiftly if needed.

Of the few cases in Washington state, currently only 2 impacted people didn't also travel outside of Washington state, so Washington is not yet considered a highly impacted region. The CDC, FDA, and King County Health Department have issued no recalls or notices for any products that we source. If any of our products are impacted, we have notification measures in place to reach out to customers immediately.
